Trend analysis and the Semantic Web

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Some of you have latched onto the connection between what we’re doing and the Semantic Web. And yes, there is a connection.

Of course, the idea of using the Semantic Web for trend analysis is nothing new, but we believe that many of our processes and algorithms add a refinement that previously wasn’t available through existing aggregate trend analysis services.

RCFactor table updates are complete

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

RCFactor table upates are complete and had very minimal impact on productivity, if any.

We’ll be looking at testing overlays of other process onto the RC Factor process to determine what other valuable information might be extracted from the current datasets we have. Part of that will be the various linking diagrams we discussed at the most recent “Future Progress Report” meeting.

A lot of what we are doing is still quite experimental - or I suppose the less “scary” way to say it would be “in it’s early stages”.

It was good to see how much people are grasping the fundamentals of the data collection and organization processes we are using to drive these future projects.

RCFactor Tables Update

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Just a reminder to everyone that the RCRactor Tables update will be taking place tonight between 5:30 PM and 11 PM EST.

If you have any questions about this and how it will affect your ability to work, please contact me or Tad.

Status of RC Factor computations

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Some of the beta testers have been confused about why we are redoing some of the initial testing so I thought I’d take some time to explain.

The RC Factor - which I know it seems we are so “hush hush” about is still evolving as are many other areas of our business and modeling systems. I’ve been accused of being needlessly technical I’m not going to go into predictor variables and other elements that you don’t really need to know about.

Really, the main takeaway here is we are constantly improving the processes and modeling and sometimes that means we need to retest the same test case scenarios.

And we are live!

Monday, October 6th, 2008

We have officially started started publishing limited releases of production data subsets thanks to everyone’s hard work during our initial beta testing phase.

Of course, we still have a long, long way to go, and we won’t be taking upgrades until we are confident of the accuracy of the aggregated data and will also be working on optimizing our algorithms.

We’ll continue to develop more automated testing scripts and refine our testing procedures and quality assurance procedures.
